1. Visit your dentist. Many people avoid the dentist because of dental phobia, financial reasons, or just negligence.

Although occasional use of these kinds of drinks will not affect your teeth, more than one dose a day can make soda enamel softer and more prone to cavities. Replace these drinks with water in which you can add slices of citrus fruit, berries or crushed peppermint pounds.

4. Reduce consumption of sugar. Sugar is the main culprit in most cases the occurrence of dental caries. Sugar feeds bacteria and acidity in the mouth, causing the plate, which affects the enamel and gums.

6. Use an adequate toothbrush. The dentists recommend soft-bristled toothbrushes. With proper technique, the brush should be used within 3 months. Do not wait and replace your toothbrush immediately after you’ve notice the broken, worn or bent hair. Improper use of a toothbrush can damage teeth and gums.

7. Brushing. Although you probably know, you should wash your teeth at least twice a day, you may not think, however, it is equally important and how you do it.

- Encourage older children to eat low-sugar snacks such as fruit, cheese and vegetables. Avoid sticky chewing candy given to children.
