For people who suffer from gastroesophageal reflux disease, how they eat is almost as important as eating. Meals will be taken on a regular basis, will avoid snacking at night and is indicated that the patient to not stretch to a horizontal position immediately after eating. Careful choice of food is also essential. Symptoms can be reduced by eating foods that are low in fat and high in dietary fiber (whole grains, fruits, vegetables, lean meats).

Those diagnosed with gastroesophageal reflux disease should avoid donuts for breakfast, for not having heartburn. These can be replaced with oatmeal because this is low fat and is rich in fiber, which can relieve stomach. Grains can be eaten with sliced banana, which is considered to fight naturally with stomach acids.

Fresh ginger acts as an anti-inflammatory, being the oldest remedy for stomach problems of all kinds. For this purpose it will take 2-4 grams of ginger daily (more can cause heartburn) to be placed in hot water in order to make a tea, you can use ginger for cooking or just eat it simple.

The heavy sauces and tomatoes are not recommended for those who have been diagnosed with gastroesophageal reflux disease. Their diet assumes exclusion of many kinds of Italian traditional dishes. If you want to eat pasta, we recommend the use of whole wheat to increase fiber intake, and use a light sauce.

Butter and oil are known as triggers for heartburn, but that does not mean you have to give up all your favorite foods. It will replace the oil with applesauce in preparing dishes, and thus will reduce the amount of fat. An important rule is to use the same amount of applesauce as the oil.

Aloe vera
Aloe vera is known to be a natural product that helps in the healing process and relieve acid reflux symptoms. Aloe vera can be available as plants or liquid form in health food stores. Aloe vera can be used in salads as a thickening agent.

You can prepare a salad every day. Salad should be the base meal for people who suffer from acid reflux. Should avoid tomatoes, onions and cheese high in fat.

Bananas are a delicious snack and have a pH of 5.6, being recommended for patients with acid reflux. However, approximately 1% of patients find that their condition is aggravated by bananas. In conclusion what not all that works for other people works for you too.

Melon (which has pH 6.1) is indicated for acid reflux, however as with bananas certain people should avoid it. In the same category of food, watermelon is recommended for gastric reflux.

Greens and root
Cauliflower, broccoli, asparagus, green beans and other vegetables are beneficial for those who have gastroesophageal reflux.
