Each person that has “bad” cholesterol high is considered a candidate for heart attack. Most body cholesterol is produced by the liver and 20-30% comes from animal foods.

* Heredity;
* Excessive consumption of fatty foods – milk, butter, flour, sugar, donuts, pastries, cookies, ice cream, meat, fish and eggs;
* Tobacco, alcohol and stress.

Herbal remedies that lower “bad” cholesterol

1. Lecithin: is a substance rich in phospholipids and very useful in case of hypercholesterolemia. Serves to separate the small cholesterol particles, an infusion of lecithin cholesterol prevents the blood vessels deposits. Sources of lecithin are found in yolk, vegetable oil, whole grains, soybeans and unpasteurized milk. Cells are able to synthesize, if B vitamins are present in the body.

2. Vitamins: Vitamin B6 (pyridoxine), B15 (Hill) and B3 are recognized for the property to reduce harmful cholesterol. These vitamins you can find in: wheat germ, yeast, bran. Also, vitamin E should not miss from the body, the most important sources can be found in: sunflower seeds, safflower flowers, soybean oil.

3. Sunflower seeds: contain a substantial quantity of linoleic acid, which reduces cholesterol deposits in artery walls.

4. Coriander seeds: regular use a decoction of coriander seeds to reduce harmful cholesterol. It is a good diuretic and stimulates kidneys action. Preparation: Boil 2 tablespoons coriander seeds and filtered after cooling.

5. Fiber: wheat bran, rice, barley, rye, potatoes, carrots, beets, kohlrabi, mango, guava, cabbage, lettuce and celery. In particular, oat and corn flakes are indicated in this situation.

Foods to avoid: eggs, meat, cheese, butter, bacon, streaky milk, palm oil and coconut. All animal foods, and vegetable oil and coconut palm are high in saturated fats and polyunsaturated fats should be replaced with corn oil, saffron, soy, sesame.

Drink at least 10 glasses of water a day!
People who have high cholesterol should drink at least 8 to 10 glasses of water daily to stimulate kidney function. This facilitates removal of excess cholesterol from the body.
