  1. I had itchy legs and it was miserable. Eventually, through experimentation the cause and a solution was found. The cause was chemical irritation from soaps and shampoo. The solution was to prevent them from contacting the skin on my lower legs by wrapping plastic around them and allowing NO chemicals to touch them. Preventing the chemical contact eliminated the problem once and for all.

  2. Hello, a few years ago I had a microscopic parasite that made my legs itchy so when it happened again I went to my Doctor but he told me there were no holes so it was probably an allergic reaction, he gave me a cream that helped a little but didn’t stop it.
I searched the net and someone said it might be due to something in bread so I stopped eating bread, then I stopped cakes and even schnitzel and crumbed fish, this did help but I still had it sometimes.
Finally I searched the net again and found it can be caused by lack or water, I realized I had been drinking a lot more coffee so I cut back the coffee and drank more water and it has stopped, my legs finally don’t itch and I can eat bread again.
It is simple to test and it worked for me so I hope it helps you because I do understand how this can drive you crazy.

  3. Hey guys I hope your suggestion gone help me, I’m dying my legs are itching especiall when I’m in a bed trying to sleep I dnt knw the caause

  4. Amanda Kahler says:

If you don’t have any dermatological problems (like eczema), then you can try the following:

Drink a lot of water. Staying hydrated will prevent your skin from getting to dry. You could even go as far as getting a humidifier in your bedroom to moisturize the air (cold season does a lot of damage to your skin).

Benadryl is something you can take when your feet feel itchy. This will help to alleviate the itching but it will also cut down on the inflammation. (there is inflammation even though you probably don’t notice it). You could use the hydrocortisone cream (best when refigerated) too but you will end up using a lot to cover your legs.

Moisturize your skin all the time. After you take a bath or shower you can add baby oil to your skin, some say putting the baby oil in the hot tube works as well. If you get zits and stop doing this and just use regular moistuizer, but definitely use something.

You can stop shaving for a while..The razor irritates the already dry skin causing it to burn…and it will burn more when moisturizer is applied. I would stop shaving legs temporarily until you notice the moisture staying in your skin and the itching subsiding.

If you follow all of these steps.. you should have skin like a baby’s toosh in no time!

  5. I have really itchy legs after a shower I don’t know why
It drives me crazy. I think having a sort shower and after the
Shower rinse your legs under the cold water for 15 secs each leg. It really helped my bro. So I hope it helps some on out there

  6. I had severe itching too the point i had sored all over my legs and would wake up itching. I tried everything nothing worked. Finally i started losing weight and started cutting out carbs. Since i have discovered gluten tends to be the culprit . Have not only stopped itching but overall feel better and have lost 20 lbs.

  7. i get itching on my legs not at all times i do scratch but find not comfortable it had started now 3- 4 days before only. i amm0rsf

  8. Stop using hot water to shave, bathe in or shower in. Also there is a new medicine on the market called triCam. It works wonders!!!

  11. try selsun blue dandruff shampoo just a smidge on your legs ….it works

  12. I have been itching now for a few days and I am miserable. I dont know what on earth is wrong with me and I am crying out of frustration due to it. I am going to try to stop drinking coffee and eatig carbs to see if it helps. I have been using anti itching cream whiich helps a little but I need it so much I am going through tubes. I will also buy some antihistamines. I will keep you informed if it gets better but right now I am feeling suicidel. I need.it to stop. i am 26. I have never had anythig like this before. There is no rash. Just itching mainly on my upper thighs.

  13. I have had itchy legs for a year now. Tried hydrocortizone creams and am taking an antihistamine every day. The hydrocortizone cream worked for a while but doesn’t releive itch at all now. I have to get up at night and apply a cold cloth and sometimes even take a cold pack to bed. It is driving me crazy with not enough sleep. It settles down a bit early morning. Have been to Dr and skin specialist but no result. You would think with the advances in medicine today there would be a cure!

  14. This is driving me crazy. If I put cream on , if I use a plain moiturising soap, drink more water, cut the carbs etc I STILL ITCH even if I take allergy tablets I just itch. Not all the time but a little too often. I feel like taking a scissors and skinning myself. ITS DRIVING ME INSANE.

  15. I had itchey legs below the knee so bad I was going crazy. I tried everything I found on the web and by doctors without any relief. One night while taking a shower I tried running hot water on them and it felt great. The hotter the better. I got a hand held shower head and it works great. Findly some relief. In the beginning I would have to run the hot water on then 2 to 4 times a day. It just about cured now. I don’t know what the problem was but after trying all tinds of creams and Rx, the HOT WATER has been my savior. I pray this will help everbody. It surely can’t hurt to try. GooD LUCK to all,
    Bob C.

  16. My calves have been itching for years! I have scratch marks and scars its ugly. Dont know what to do. Ill try some of the suggestions. But no bread? Noooooooooo!

  17. Thanks bob, I too found the hot shower works from 4-6 hrs. Is it possible that it is an iron defeciancy or borderline diabetes, it has got to be an underlying medical problem. Have you researched this area?

  18. i’m 26, like Naomi. and my scratch marks are getting worse by the day. Why don’t we try supplying our ages to see if this stuff is not some normal stage-developmental synptom…i mean like the identity crisis or the devastating libido upsurge of teenage

  19. Had itchey legs for several years, especially at night when trying to go to sleep.. Asked many med. docs. And they all seemed to glaze over with no answer. Tried many things.. Was using Wisk soap to wash clothes. I switched to Arm & Hammer. Haven,t had a problem since.. Going on two months..hope this helps because its a terrible affliction

  20. I have this problem, and Comfrey ointment or oil works wonders, and also helps heal skin damaged by scratching.

  21. I suffered same problem long time, used Telfast 180 tablets for 7 days before sleep and Betnovate-C cream 2 times a day,. morning and evening, and all healed. I had to shave the itching parts of my leg so the cream can work better.

  22. My tip is try holding a thoroughly frozen ice brick against the skin – for me, I found that this completely kills the itch where the skin is in direct contact with the brick, and substantially soothes the surrounding area. I’ve had severe itching problems coming and going for over 20 years now, including outbreaks of acute patches of excema, but only this summer did it occur to me to try ice, and it was a revelation! Going to bed armed with a few of these bricks actually allowed sleep. The bricks come in many sizes and shapes, and my own experience was that direct contact worked best (without wrapping them in anything).

Should also mention, I had hepatitis once, and the one thing that helped with the truly insane itching that brought was liberal application of pinetarsol (a pine tar product that smells foul but actually helps). Best of luck with it.

  23. I’v had this problem most my adult life, now at age 61 since a hip replacement. I needed to wear compression stockings.
with moisturizing cream or gel and have not been bothered again.
I too dug holes in my skin for years. Night time was the worst.
    This works

  24. Hotensia says:

hey guy i have lots of spots on my two legs and i tried every medication but i found them to be so expensive so i searched the net and saw a natural way to do so is by using “lemon”.i did that but recently my legs have become so dry and itchy though the spot are decreasing.am i damaging my skin?

  25. Kindly recommend any sort of Creal/Lotion
for itchey legs,,,having it for a month now…
    help me…………..thanks aelvaa

  26. I wonder if most of you are suffering from yeast overgrowth. You can do some research to find symptoms usually cravings for sugar, itchy ears, and dry skin. They have cleanses for this. Floracor- GI is one I have taken.
