Saturated fats are often found in animal products such as red meat, poultry, butter and whole milk. Other foods rich in saturated fats are coconut oil, palm and other tropical oils. Saturated fats are responsible for raising blood cholesterol levels and risk of coronary disease.

Limit saturated fat intake up to 10% of total calories, ie a maximum of 20 grams per day for women and 24 grams per day for men.
