The benefits of facial massage

Facial massage is a massage by itself and can be included in a more complete experience, involving the entire body. On the face are many nerves and pressure points that transform this form of massage in a pampering. Whether you are looking for ways to relax or want to escape from routine, simply, a facial massage is recommended for its benefits on entire body.

- Improved mood – facial massage lowers anxiety and can turn a negative mood into a positive one. It can also help relieve anxiety and stress but also psychologically.

- Prevent wrinkles – the daily stress leads to the formation of specific muscle tension. Forehead lines, those between the eyebrows and along the lips are relaxed and lowered using gentle facial massage. Combining massage with a moisturizing cream helps reduce wrinkles and skin dryness.

- Improving sinus congestion common in allergies – although massage therapy should not be used for sinus infections without medical approval, it may be useful in improving allergy symptoms. Accumulation of mucus in the sinuses can lead to pressure, inflammation and headaches. Steam inhalations and massage gently help remove secretions, improve drainage and avoid congestion.

- Detoxification of the body – the lymphatic system plays an important role for the overall health of the body. Lymph is a clear liquid that removes toxins from the body. Lack of exercise can slow the lymphatic system and can lead to accumulation of toxins.

Lymph nodes are spread throughout the face, especially along the edge of the chin and jaw line. Facial massage stimulates the lymphatic vessels and facilitates elimination of toxins from the face.

Auto-massage

Do not you know how to make a massage to yourself? Here are some tips:

- Start by putting a warm fabric on the skin for a minute or two. This will give your skin an extra dose of oxygen because the heat stimulates blood flow to tissues (skip this step if you have rosacea)

- Apply a cleanser, cream or oil and rub your finger over the face with powerful and circular movements. Focus on areas that look tired, that jawline, sides of nose, forehead and around the mouth where deep lines begin to form.

- Try to diminish the bags under the eyes with horizontal, gentle movements of the fingers to smooth out facial skin center.
