Treatment for constipation

Recommend to others!

Constipation is a symptom, not a disease. It is often caused by a disturbance in the functioning of the colon. The ordinary habits of chair can vary greatly in healthy people: between three times a day and three times a week.

Although bothersome, constipation is generally a very serious symptom. Try to treat it to eliminate or even reduce the abdominal discomfort, and to avoid any complications. Untreated constipation can lead to more serious problems such as hemorrhoids or partial blockage of the colon.

Here are some steps to treat constipation. The goal of treatment is to restore a normal chair without using laxatives or enemas.

Key measures to be taken:

  • a diet rich in fiber
  • regular meals, is very important to have breakfast;
  • use of laxatives in moderation and only after medical indications;
  • habit of a daily chair,
  • if not got a chair after 2-3 days, is certainly recommended to use a glycerin suppository or an enema;
  • exercise daily;
  • as possible to avoid foods and medicines that encourages constipation.

A proper diet

The first measure against constipation is a diet rich in fiber that is found in fruits and vegetables. Fiber foods are part of certain foods that pass through the intestine and colon almost unchanged.
Bran is the outer shell of cereal grains, which is eliminated in the processing to obtain flour, and is one of the cheapest sources of fiber in the diet. Lack of taste, but one teaspoon contains about 2g dietary fiber, which is a highly recommended food supplement.

Proper hydration

It is very important to drink liquids with fibers. Be drunk about 8 glasses of water a day, including one each before each meal.
Of course eventually fluids can not ensure a normal chair without using the other elements mentioned, simply because the small intestine can absorb the entire amount of fluid. Therefore, without the contribution of fibers, simply increasing the amount of liquid consumed could lead only to increasing the volume of urine eliminated.

Use suppository

I avoid strong laxatives containing sena. Regular use of them can be addictive and dangerous to habits of the chair. Glycerine suppository can be used to trigger a chair sometimes. This practice should be gradually reduced until it’s no longer necessary.
It is very important to maintain regular habits in terms of chair. We recommend getting a chair at the same time every day. Activity colon is greater after waking up in the morning or after each meal
