Cereals

It is recommended that anyone consuming six grams of grain per day. To do this you may eat three servings of cereals, whole grains, bread, rice, crackers or pasta. 30 grams of bread contains about 30 grams of cereal, as long as they are full.

Cereal grains provide the amount that a person needs, being vital to good health. Fiber has a role in preventing constipation, especially if they drink with enough fluid.


Vegetables

Vegetables should be consumed every day. It is strongly indicated to consume different kinds of vegetables. The goal is to be included in daily meals 2 or 2 1/2 cups of vegetables. Dark green vegetables (broccoli and spinach) are very healthy. Carrots are a good source of vitamins too (vitamin A, potassium, magnesium, thiamin, vitamin B6, folic acid), like sweet potatoes. Beans are great for the body and also contain less fat.


Fruits

It is recommended to include more fruits in your diet every day: at least 2 servings. Fruits can be eaten fresh, frozen, canned or dried. It is preferable to avoid fruit juice (especially if you have diabetes), because it contains more sugar.


Milk

Milk is one of the best sources of calcium. Daily requirement for adults is 3 cups. For children aged 2-8 years who, two cups a day is enough. When you choose milk or yogurt, you might like choose the variant without fat.

If you do not like milk or suffer from lactose intolerance, add in your diet foods and beverages fortified with calcium. Germinated seeds can be an alternative for your level of calcium in the body to grow.


Meat and beans

The meat from your daily menu should be weak and not exceed 150 grams per day (about the size of a palm or a deck). Is strongly indicated that it would be cooked in the oven, grilled, steamed or boiled. The meat has a relatively high content of protein, but fish and beans have a higher protein level.
